As of this writing, winter is holding back on us. There has been a lot of nice winter days here in South Jersey to enjoy our classic Late Greats.
I made it though my first meeting as president. The calendar is being filled in with our meetings and events for 2020, with a couple more event ideas in question.
Our next most important date will be March 7th at 12 noon. This is our Annual Awards Banquet. Dawn and John Dennery have done a great job in the past and will be planning our banquet again. This is always a good time held at the Ramblewood Country Club in Mt Laurel, NJ. There will be entertainment, food, gifts and awards. Our own Steve Calandra will be spinning records and singing his songs to us. There will be photos and videos of past club events and hopefully have some of the ever popular “Dennery Awards.” We will hold a brief meeting at the banquet so there will be no meeting in Bordentown on Sunday, March 8th.
There is a flier in this newsletter so please fill it out and send it to Dawn, ASAP. Please bring your family and friends!
In May, we will be holding our club picnic. Maureen and I will be working on the arrangement and date for the Washington Lake Park pavilion in Sewell , N.J. As in the past, the club will supply burgers, dogs and condiments. Members are asked to bring their favorite covered dish. Al Bernotas will do the grilling!
On June 13th, our plans are to attend the GM Auto Show at Smithville Village in Smithville, NJ from 10am to 3pm. We will hold a brief meeting and then enjoy the rest of day. If you have never visited Smithville Village this is a must for the whole family. Hey ladies... there are two Tomasello Wineries on location! What a great place to spend the day. Rain date is June 14th.
We are always looking for new ideas. If you know of an event in your area, just email Maureen and I and we will bring it to the members at the next meeting.
Have a warm and safe winter! I am looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting on February 9th.
