July 17th was our first gathering together this year. A huge Thank You goes to the Denney's ( John & Dawn ) for opening their home to our club members for a BBQ. The food and dessert was great. It was good to see everyone with smiles on their face without a mask or through a monitor screen.
A Thank you goes out to our very own DJ Steve Calandra for playing music throughout the day.
Dawn held a moment of silence for members we have lost. A cake was presented to our Sergeant at Arms, Al Bernotas in honor of his 78TH Birthday. Speaking of Al Bernotas, I would like to personally thank him for picking up Janet Frantz and bringing her to the BBQ. It was nice having her there. The cars are always the highlight of an event. Don Bock showed his 1965, 283 - 4 speed Chevelle convertible with air. What a great car. Joe DiNoa showed his 1959, 4 door Impala. Mike Berry had his 1960 Impala Convertible. John and Jan Lucas drove from PA in their 1958 Impala, Maureen and I drove our 1964 Impala Sports Coupe, Steve Calandra showed his Corvair wagon and Mark Mercury and Linda drove his 1962 Impala while other members decided to drive their everyday cars.
On August 14th at 12:00 noon, we will be hosting a southern barbeque at my home in Carneys Point, N.J. This will give members a chance to check out my latest project in my garage and enjoy a day of fresh country air! Directions are included in this Newsletter.
There are two items that the board
will be looking into:
1.) To lessen the snail mail of the
newsletter.
2.) Making a change for the
members due date.
We will have more discussion on these
items in the next couple of months. So
please try to attend these meetings for
your input.
I just received the good news that we
will be back at the Bordentown
Community Center this fall and winter.
