Hello Folks, just one question-Is it Summer or is it
Fall? The recent weather has been all over the
place! However, that hasn’t stopped the Car Show
season as it is in full swing. I have been fortunate
enough to take advantage of this at Macungie, Pa
for Das Awkscht Fest and subsequent to that the
trip to Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise.
I met up with fellow members Lydia, Wayne and
Bob out at Macungie, strolled the beautiful park
grounds and discovered a few more of our club
members enjoying the weather. John Haring and
Bud Haines were there, and a lot of East Penn Club
members as well. This is a great show in a
wonderful park like setting, I highly recommend
you take the time and enjoy it. It features a host
of awesome antique vehicles, and a very nice
swap meet including arts and crafts!
Our own Mike Berry just returned from the NIA
convention in Spearfish, SD. He drove his 1960
Impala Convertible a total of 4500 miles during his
journey, just proves that you can still “See the USA
in your Chevrolet”!
A few other members, namely James Brussel, Jim
Krous and I buzzed out to Detroit for the big
cruise. What a great time we had, and what cars
we saw! This one is truly a Bucket List trip for all
to someday enjoy. Such a variety of vehicles, from
Muscle Cars to Hot Rods, Model A’s to Hi Boys and
even obscure vehicles from the movies like Mad
Max, Batman, and the Monkees TV show.
Provided as an update on club events, I did not
receive any phone calls inquiring about a possible
Drive-In cruise event as solicited in the last
Newsletter. I was contacted by the East Penn
chapter questioning as to when the event would
take place, but had to inform them there was a
lack of demonstrated interest. I hope your
Summer has been a fun one, but it’s winding down
which will bring us back to our regular meeting
schedule. Please make your plans now to be at
our September 8th meeting at the Bordentown
Community center, meeting starts promptly at
5PM. Till then,
