First Things First: Our next event and meeting will be the Fall

It’s Rain or Shine, so there’s rain date. Also note there will not be a meeting
in Bordentown on Sunday, October 14 as posted in the last newsletter, we’ll
take care of everything on Saturday. I would like to remind everyone that if
you’re planning to attend please call Tom Merring on his cell to let him know
how many to expect. The fall scenery in the New Jersey highlands is always a
treat so bring the whole family.
The Fall Carlisle Swap meet will be history by the time you read this but right
now I’m looking forward to prowling the 8,000 vendor spaces looking for good
stuff, It’s always a good time out there; corn chowder, ham, cheese and egg
breakfast sandwiches. Mmmmmm. At the October meeting, we will have the first
of 2 rounds of nominations for the 2019 Board. All positions are available and
we really need an Election Chairman and a Secretary, so if you want to support
your club, step up and volunteer. There has been some discussion about what
to do with the club assets in the event that our chapter closes. The main item
of course is the treasury so we are putting forth a motion for the membership
to vote on what to do with the funds. Once that has been decided, it will be
entered into the club By-Laws.
The club is not going away. I repeat, the club is not folding, we are just making
preparations if that does come to pass sometime in the future. You can insure
the future of the club by coming out to some events and meetings, getting involved
and lending a hand.
The November meeting will be held at the Bordentown Community Center and promises
to be a fun evening. Leigh Humphreys has videos from various club events that
he will be showing and the club will be providing pizza. Feel free to bring
any video you may have that the membership would enjoy.
December is our annual Christmas Party and that’s always a well attended event.
