October 2012
President’s Message
Happy Fall!
Summer is now officially over, it’s time to enjoy the change
of seasons by cruising in your old Chevy. We have a joint cruise scheduled with
the Jersey Corvair Club-NJACE on Sunday October 21. We will be meeting up in
the morning hours at the Bernardsville Train Station located along RT 202 at
11 AM. The route has yet to be finalized … more on this at the meeting.
Speaking of the meeting … this past meeting was a very good one
as we discussed the conduct and finances of the NIA Convention. Verne Frantz
did an excellent job of itemizing expenses, and I believe the club came out
with over $400 to the good. I am very proud of the excellent job our members
did to support this event. In addition at the meeting, we also discussed planning
some winter month Tech Seminars. The Humphries have plans to arrange a seminar
on automotive batteries which will be presented by a local Vendor, which sounds
pretty interesting indeed. If you have an idea for a seminar, please contact
me. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; our club members enjoy these types
of events. At our next meeting we will also recap some of the Club’s outings-namely
the Hershey Museum Trip and the Lincoln Highway Cruise. We will also be opening
the floor for Officer Nominations, managed by our elections/nominations clerk
John Dennery. With that in mind, you should be considering who you would like
to see on the JLG Board this year. Please give this some serious consideration
and bring these nominations at the next meeting.
On a personal note, Yes, I have repaired the El Camino and it
is now back in service. It didn’t survive Atco very well, but you know my motto-
Keep ‘em Rollin!
Tom
