Greetings and a Happy Halloween to you all! We just returned from
a wonderful cruise with the Corvair Club. Their planned route was nothing less
than spectacular, offering views of wonderful colored Fall Foliage and some
very beautiful and twisty country roads. They have a well-organized club with
many friendly members and some sweet rides. The cruise culminated at a nice
restaurant, where fine food and car stories were shared by all. If you haven’t
participated yet on one of these cruises, you’ll certainly want to mark your
calendars for next year to join in on the fun. Special thanks go out to the
Corvair Club for planning this and to all our members who attended.
Our November meeting will feature next year’s calendar planning and the final
round of Board nominations. Please come out and share your proposed candidate
selections for our clubs 013 Board. It’s your club, therefore it’s your choice
who you would like to see pilot it. As I mentioned before, we will be drafting
next year’s event calendar, I invite you to attend and share your ideas regarding
activities you would like to see scheduled.
December’s meeting will feature Board elections and a Holiday celebration, including
folks bringing out their favorite covered dish/snacks to share with the membership.
Please contact Dawn Dennery at your earliest convenience and share with her
what you would like to bring. Dawn is making a list, and checking it twice to
insure there will be no duplication of efforts.
I am including some photos of the total damages on my El Camino from the Drags
at ATCO during the Convention.
Have to share the fact that as many times that I have raced, I never had so
much bad luck in one day. Everything was readily repairable, so no real harm
done. In the pictures you will notice the split in half differential case, a
bent pushrod, and a tweaked center support carrier. Fun, Huh? No worries though,
all has been repaired and is now in good order. While we are on the subject
of the NIA, I wanted to advise you all that you should be receiving the latest
issue of the NIA news very soon. It’s has been confirmed by Mike Berry-NIA President
that the magazine is in the mail.
