President’s Message

Welcome Chevy Fans!! What a great time we all had at the Annual Club Picnic! Despite the threatening showers, there was an excellent turn out of vintage Chevys. Frank Visco drove up in his very cool, Marina Blue, low mileage 67 Impala complete with skirts and flat capped Rally Wheels. There were probably 10 or more vintage vehicles there to feast your eyes on, it was a real treat. Special thanks go out to the following club members: Jim Brussel for securing the picnic grove, Mike Berry for chairing the event, Gerri Thackeray for managing the wonderful food dishes and purchasing all the dogs and burgers, Steve Colandra for spinning the tunes and MC’ing, and our own Master Chief-Al Benotas for performing the excellent cooking duties. All of you are to be commended for creating and supporting such a fine event. Jim Brussel even brought his horseshoes, which a few members played and enjoyed some fun times. If you weren’t there, you certainly missed a great day and will want to include this on next year’s calendar.

Updates on the 012 NIA Convention - The Committee has forwarded their research and Hotel selections to Jody Anderson for consideration, we are currently awaiting a response so we know the best way to proceed. This should be a very enjoyable event, so be certain to place it on your calendar for 2012.

Our next event will be the famous Drive-In Cruise, chaired by our own Newsletter editor John Lucas. This is always a lot of fun, whether you want to munch out poolside on some snacks, or take a trip down memory lane in a Late Great Chevy while watching a Drive-In Movie. More on this including details on page seven (7) of this Newsletter. It’s fun for the whole family, so why not come out and enjoy yourselves.

Please keep an eye out for our other Summer events-including picnics and cruising out to the 011 NIA Convention in Kalamazoo,, MI.
