Presidentís Message

I hope you and your family had a Safe and Enjoyable 4th of July Holiday weekend! Although the weather wasnít the best, I hope you had an opportunity to attend some car shows and cruises. Now that we are in the peak summer season, there seems to be a cruise-in every night and shows on the weekend.

THANK YOU to Big Al for arranging and running the show at Burlington Chevrolet on June 3rd. We have a show every year at Burlington Chevrolet, as it is a time for us to get together and display our cars. It is also an opportunity to raise money for the club as Burlington Chevrolet makes a donation and also provides food and beverages for the attendees. This year we had 13 cars and members attend. If you havenít attended this show before, plan to. It is always a great day for all.

The Chevrolet Nationals, formally known as the GM Nationals, had some rain on Friday, but it finally cleared up for Saturday and Sunday. There were some great exhibitions for the 50 anniversary of the Camaro. There were plenty of cars from all GM brands along with plenty of vendors, including our own Verne. While it is always a smaller show than the Spring and Fall Carlisle shows, itís still a worthwhile one to attend as it is all GM. Our next big club event is the July 22nd Picnic at the Denneryís. Thereís a flyer for this event in this Newsletter. Please RSVP and let Dawn know what youíll be bringing. This is a day for all of us to relax and enjoy meeting other club members and their families.

There are a number of events in August including:

Das Awkscht Fescht, Aug. 4-6, Macungie, PA

Woodward Ave. Dream Cruise, Aug.18-20, Detroit, MI.

This is the MOTHER of all cruises as it attracts over 10,000 vehicles of every shape and size. This is the one thatís on everyoneís BUCKET LIST, so plan on attending. Tom M., John L., Jim B., and others attend every year, so contact one of them for more info.

Rolling Iron Car Show, Aug. 20, Allaire Village, Farmington, NJ. This is a great one for those of you not going to Detroit.

Our membership drive has recruited 4 new members, a Big WELCOME to them! We are always looking for new members, so keep the membership brochure with you as you never know when you will run into a potential new member.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and exercise your Late Great Chevy.

Remember to Ö Enjoy the Ride!

Frank
