July 2012
President’s Message
Happy summer! It’s time to get your Chevy out on the road and
shake out those cobwebs! The car show season is in full swing; insure you’re
out there to enjoy it.
While we are on subject of Car shows, the NIA 012 Convention
is less than five weeks away-that’s right, count ‘em-5! Our last meeting was
held at the Philly Wyndham, the site of the upcoming convention. The hotel configured
a very nice meeting room for us to conduct the business meeting, once the meeting
was complete, we toured the facility to become familiar with the layout. Personally,
I was very encouraged by all the members who came out to the meeting and brought
their suggestions regarding the planning and conduct of the convention. The
plans are solidifying very nicely, and your Convention committee has been very
dedicated to producing a stellar event. We remain in the need of more volunteers
to assist in all the duties it will take to insure the execution phase of the
plan goes smoothly. I urge you as members to do two things;
1. Register now for the event.
2. Contact Mike Berry offering your assistance.
One important note, if you are a Member of our club and volunteer
to help out with the various duties in support of the convention, you may waive
the $60 NIA registration fee. You simply need to note that you are a JLG member
when you register and that you will be helping with the show. Our next meeting
will be held at the Hotel on July 8 at 12 Noon, where we will be stuffing Goodie
Bags and finalizing Convention plans. Please come out and help our fellow members
prepare for this prestigious and fun filled event. I have been in communication
with NIA President Jody Anderson and in regards to the convention, all systems
are Go. The NIA sent out an email blast last Thursday, and the NIA magazine
is in the mail. If you are a NIA member, you should receive your magazine in
the next week or so. It is our time to shine, so why not make your plans now
and come out with your Chevy and enjoy the convention. Time to renew some friendships
and join in the fun!
Keep ‘em Rollin’
Tom
