PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Thanks to all who voted for me to be the President of the Jersey Late Greats. Also, thanks to Maureen Humphreys for doing a terrific job as President and being on the club board for quite a few years. However, she had decided to move on in order to pursue other community interests. Once again, thanks Maureen.

I know it’s still early, but now is the time to take care of any needed maintenance on your late great in preparation for the spring. You don’t want to be caught with your car still up on jack stands when that first cruise day comes. If you haven’t been able to attend any winter meetings and have questions regarding maintenance or upgrades, don’t hesitate to contact any of the tech reps. They’re always willing to help out.

This year is going to be another exciting year for the club. The club calendar has been filled with great activities, so come on out, bring the family and have some fun. Everyone is always interested in seeing another member’s ride, no matter what condition it’s in. Quite a few are ‘works in progress’.

One of the best events of the year is the Awards Dinner that’ll be held on February 21. Dawn Dennery did an outstanding job coordinating the entire event last year. This year, Dawn has selected Ventura’s Italian Restaurant in south Jersey to have the 12 noon Awards Luncheon. This is one event you don’t want to miss. Last year, we had quite a turnout and also saw members that we don’t have the opportunity to see that often. One of the hi-lights are the Dennery Awards. John always has innovative ideas to improvise and produce that special gag gift. And you can’t forget the commentary that goes along with the gag. I have a few Dennery gags hanging in my garage and still chuckle when I see them. So, if you know of something funny, usually car related that has happened to someone, be sure to give John a call. His number is listed in the Tech Rep section of the newsletter.

Another great event is the Junkyard Run that’s happening on March 21. There’s more information in this newsletter. Don’t be bashful, come on out and have some fun.
