February 2015

President’s Message

Hi everyone, here it is February 2015 already and the cold cold temperatures are upon us. Luckily in the previous months we did not have a whole lot of that white stuff they call SNOW. February may be a lot different, we shall see. Stay warm whatever you do, so the flu does not catch up with you.

This is an active month for our Late Great Chevy Club, with our monthly meeting on February 8 and our wonderful club banquet on February 21, 2015. We always have a great time at our Banquet, hope all of you will come out and join us at the Ramblewood Country Club, 200 Country Club Parkway, and Mt Laurel, New Jersey. Starts at 12:30 PM, good food, good music by our own Steve Colandra and lots of fun. John and Dawn Dennery do such a fantastic job of organizing the banquet, don’t miss it. Still time to R.S.V.P. to the Dennery’s @ 856-456-5416. Banquet fee is still only $35.00 per person. Be there or be square!

For our Club monthly meeting on February 8, 2015 there will be a very interesting presentation of the “History of Diners” given by Michael Gabriele. We are fortunate to have Michael Gabriele, author and journalist to give us this private presentation of his book. He will answer questions and also sign books. This event will be held at the Jersey Diner, Rt 130, Dayton, New Jersey @ 1PM. You may get there earlier have breakfast or lunch before the presentation begins. At the Jersey Diner we have a nice private room for this event. Afterwards we will have our regular monthly meeting right at the diner. envision a really nice afternoon. It’s a very interesting subject. Thank you Mike Berry for coordinating and bringing Michael Gabriele to our club.

Reminder to mark your calendars for the upcoming Junk Yard Run, March 20-21, 2015. Thanks to Karen and Jim Thackeray, they found a junk Yard that the club has not been to.” Joe’s You Pull It “, near Hamburg, Pa. More information can be found in the body of this newsletter. Lodging will be in Hamburg Pa. Should be fun!!!. Next date to remember is our Club Picnic. The date has been moved to May 30, 2015. This is a little later in the month of May due to the availability of Pavilion No 11 which has electricity, at Core Creek Park in Middletown Township east of Rt 413. Last year was our first time at this park and it was great so we decided to book it again this year. There are Boat Rentals, plenty of parking, Restrooms, Nature walkways etc. Something for everyone to enjoy the day. More details in our next month’s newsletter. Keep the date open, plan to attend, It’s a really nice park. Come one ,Come all.

Always keep the NIA Convention on your calendar, July 20-14, 2015, 35 Anniversary in Spearfish. January’s meeting went very well with our new board members at the helm steering the ship into 2015. Welcome our new Secretary, Sharon Danfield and new vice President Ted Gerlach. After the meeting Mike Berry provided a slide show of the year 2014 memory pictures. Enjoyed by all. Thank you Mike.

Our calendar for 2015 is always in our newsletter, easy for all members to keep track of what’s scheduled for the coming months. In closing, don’t forget to get those old Chevy’s packed away from the frigid weather in a good safe dry place.

See you all on February 8, 2015 meeting.
Bye For Now.
