Hello all you Chevy enthusiasts out there, here
we are again, in the grips of Old Man Winter. At this point, we’ve seen some
single digit temperatures and felt the chilling bite of some cold winds. It’s
a nice time to relax at the end of the day with a cup of hot chocolate in front
of a blazing fireplace. But wait a minute, what about your Chevy and all the
work plans you have for it? Time to fire up the garage heater and get to work,
for Spring will be here before you know it!
Let’s shift gears for a moment, and focus on some club plans and events. February’s
meeting will feature a club swap meet, so bring out your items for sale to the
meeting Hall. February 18th will be our annual Club Banquet, expertly planned
by the Dennerys who always aim to please. It’s always a whole lot of fun, so
I encourage you to sign up now to help us calculate the headcount. Why not make
your plans now and join in? In March we will hold a regular meeting, and around
the 17th we are planning to have our annual Junkyard run, more details to follow.
The 012 NIA convention committee has been hard at work planning this prestigious
event, please see Mike Berry’s article on this in the Newsletter. We need you
to step up and volunteer to insure this event is a banner success.
On a club
business note, there is a pending motion to amend the Club By- Laws. The suggestion
was made that the prerequisites to vote for officers be modified. Currently
a member is required to attend at least three business meeting in a Calendar
year to be qualified to cast a vote. The motion was made to change this to three
club “events” as opposed to business meetings. We will list this in the next
newsletter in accordance with the By- Laws and hold a vote at the March meeting.
If you are interested in discussing this, please come out to the February meeting.
