President’s Message
Hey everyone out there in Car-land, hope that your summer has
been filled with fun events so far. The Jersey Late Greats have been busy with
many activities; the most recent was the stellar event at the Dennery’s. What
a great time we all had, a live Band, great food, cool cars, Steve spinning
the discs-what more could you ask for? The Dennery’s really know how to host
a great party, and this was no exception! A HUGE thanks go out to them, didn’t
think it was possible-but they outdid themselves. If you weren’t there, you
should definitely make your plans now to attend next year. Dawn is the consummate
hostess, always willing to go the extra mile to insure her guests are comfortable.
John is always displaying some new nostalgic poster or part to “wow” the crowd,
and don’t forget his outstanding car collection. Needless to say, a good time
was had by all. We even had a visit from a mystery 59 Sport Coupe, the rarely
seen Aspen Green DiNoia special. What a great car, kudos to Joe for finally
bringing it out to see the light of day (I think I saw the headlights squinting)!
The next big event is the NIA convention in Kalamazoo, MI. So
far I know that Mike Berry, John Lucas, Joe Visko, Verne Frantz and I will be
in attendance. I have been readying “Flatty” for the trip out, and I am pleased
to report that she is ready to go. This trip proves to be a whole lot of fun,
hope we have smooth travels with no incidences. More to follow on this when
we return, I’m certain that we will have a great time.
Regarding upcoming events; we have the Picnic at the Humphries on August 13
and the Burlington Chevy show to be held on August 20. Like they say in regards
to the Lottery-you got to be in it to win it. See you at the Humphries, can’t
wait to see Leigh’s new garage!
Keep ‘em Rollin’
Tom
