April 2015

President’s Message

Happy Happy Easter to all !!!!!

April is always Easter month with the daffodils blooming to tell us spring is really here. But, this year I am not sure this will be as it is the first day of spring and we had a snow storm. There was 6” of that White Fluffily stuff on the ground. A little dusting of snow is ok but 6” means do not put those snow shovels away. I am hoping this is the last of snow for this winter. Enough is Enough . We all need to get out cruising in our Late Great Chevrolets. The best part is the gas prices are going down again.

Hooray On March 20-21, 2015 our Junk Yard Run went on as scheduled, despite the snow storm the day before. The club did not have a Junk Yard Run last year. Thanks to Karen and Jim Thackeray they searched out EZ Pull and Save yard in PA. Many members were on board to seek out new territory of junk. One man’s junk is another man’s treasures. Be sure to check out the results in next month’s newsletter.

Looking ahead to our club picnic on May 30, 2015 starting at noon. Please contact Karen and Jim Thackeray our chairperson to let them know you are attending and what covered dish or food you will be bringing to this wonderful club get together. Lots of fun things to do for everyone. Contact Karen and Jim @ 215-696- 8780. As always club supplies soda, water, Hamburgers, hot dogs and coffee. Place is Core Creek Park, Pavilion # 11.

Park address is 901 Bridgeton Pike, Middletown Township, Pa. Hope to see you all there. You can arrive as early as 8AM if you wish to do so. You can always bring your favorite drink, NON ALOCHOLIC. See directions within this newsletter. Same place as last year’s picnic.

April 12, 2015, our next club meeting at the Bordentown community center will be at 5pm as usual. Something has been added for your enjoyment. After the business meeting there will be a showing of the video from the 348/409 Convention held in Kansas, September 2014 by Mike Berry. There will be Pizza and soda available as you watch this video. There you have it “A PIZZA PARTY MEETING WITH A VIDEO”. Unfortunately I will not be attending the pizza party, makes me sad. I do hope you all come out and enjoy the evening.

A LAST MINUTE EVENT BULLETIN NOTICE: Mike Berry informed me the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles in Pa, is having a “DINER DAY” on April 11, 2015 from 10AM to 1PM. There will be .05 cent coffee and .25 cent slice of pie, 1938 prices. It should be fun to go back in time to buy a cup of coffee for a nickel. Mike is going to attend and I and Bob will be going. It’s about 2 hours from Mike’s house and it’s about 1hour from my house.
