As I write this message the calendar says spring is
only hours away. So put on a “HAPPY FACE” for springs
arrival. This week I saw my daffodils peeking through the dirt which is a good
sign of spring, HOO RAY Spring good bye snow.
Just a reminder – our club lunch/brunch meeting on Sunday April 13, 2014 will
be held at the Jersey Diner located on RT 130 northbound in Dayton, N.J. at
1 pm. By April 13 spring should have sprung into a very nice day - Hopefully!
Eating at 1 PM with the club meeting immediately following right there in the
diner. An extra addition will be a tech session by Verne Frantz and Tom Merring.
Make plans to be part of this meeting, it should be great. If you have not been
to a club meeting in a while this will be a good one to attend and we would
love to see you.
At our March meeting it was decided to scrap the Junk Yard Run for this year.
It may well be that we have exhausted all the Junk Yards close by. Still being
investigated for next year, there are many junk yards that are just a little
too far to get to. If anyone has information about a specific junk yard that
we could seek out please forward to either myself or Mike Berry.
Looking ahead, our club picnic on May 10, 2014 will be held at Core Creek Park,
Middletown Township at noon. Directions are in the body of this newsletter.
Please contact our chairperson Lew Thackeray. Lew Thackeray can be reached at
215-357-1982. Let him know you are attending and what covered dish or food you
will be bringing to this wonderful time together. The park has a pavilion, walking
trails, lots of parking, rest rooms etc. Lots of fun for all.
The club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and some beverages. You can always
bring your favorite drink, but NO Alcoholic beverages.
In the Month of May we have the Bordentown Chevrolet Dealership Car display.
That is on May 31, rain date June 7, 2014 from 11AM to 2PM. Mark your calendars,
let’s make it a big turnout of those Classic Chevy’s. Show them off.
Passing on information from the Ramblewood Country Club (where we had our February
banquet) they expressed possibly having a Classic Car display in connection
with a golf outing sometime next year in the summer time. Dawn Denery mentioned
this at our March meeting. Just some food for thought until next year.
