Hope you are all enjoying the early arrival of
these beautiful weather conditions; it makes me want to jump in the Chevy and
take a cruise. Speaking of enjoying the nice weather, we all had a fun filled
Junk Yard trip this past weekend. Peewee’s yard is just stocked with treasures,
and we brought home our share. The Dutch Kitchen offered some fine dining, good
hospitality, and even some Chevy and junkyard story telling. BIG thanks go out
to Mike and Lou for coordinating this trip. It was a huge success!
Moving forward, we are prepping for our annual Club Picnic at Mercer County
Park to be held on May 12, 2012. Thank you to Jim Brussel for securing this
fine facility so we may all enjoy it and the club fellowship for another year.
There will be food and friends galore, be certain to come out and enjoy the
fun in your old Chevy. Please contact Gerry Thackeray as she has been so gracious
once again to coordinate the food this year, and let her know what kind of covered
dish you can bring. There will be horseshoes games and also holding a brief
club meeting. Mark your calendars now for this event, and please see the details
elsewhere in this edition of the Newsletter.
We are still looking for volunteers to assist with this year’s NIA convention.
Those members that offer to help out and get their names on the list will benefit
by being exempt from the $60 convention registration fee. Jody Anderson has
stated that he appreciates the folks that support the convention and is offering
this as a token of his gratitude. You will still have to render the other fees
involved such as for the picnic, banquet, T shirts, etc., so don’t forget to
Call Mike Berry and offer to help. This is shaping up to be one of the best
Conventions yet! The Car Show season is just beginning, time to dust off your
ride and get it out in the daylight. I would encourage you all to bring your
Chevy’s to the next meeting (weather permitting) and share your pride and joy
with your fellow Club Members. It’s always a crowd pleaser when the cars are
at an event, and after all, isn’t that a major part of what the club is all
about?
That’s all for now folks,
